Does the Poll on the left make any sense to anyone?

Is it 'Yes' Players should not be allowed to represent Uddingston at 11s or 15s if they do not play Individual Membership. Meaning 'No they shoudnt'.

Can we have some grammer to the Poll on the left please?

I agree with you angus on both counts....
Just this morning reading it gave me the impression...miss-leading....plus polls are inconclusive.....

Can I ask you angus for an honest answer? Do you agree that if a member of uddingston pool league refuses toe enter an s.p.l I'm that he or she be dissalowed to represent the upl in the supers

IMO If a player puts himself forward for selection for superleague and the captain thinks that that player would benefit his team then yes I think that player should be selected regardless of whether he plays IM or not.

George, I would love to hear why me thinking if more players entered the Individual Membership thus creating more finals places for our area thus giving more of our guys valuable experience in the process is.....

common sense as you put it

1.. your doing a great job nobody wants...everybody apprecites that including me

2.. credit to you for your efforts on getting the numbers up..

however, forcing in my opinion players to play in the i.m's to boost the numbers ..to me only favours the seeded players...

here's a scenario...

only guys who join are.....holtz,kinney,williams,douglas,wilson.

only one can qualify.....would you fancy paying 25 to play in 5 qualifiers with this lot ....but !!! add 40 players and all 5 can qualify....there's my answer...

however , my reason is..that getting to top 16 in the rankings was treated as a joke to most..... no reward for efforts...not included in any scottish teams.....leaving personal feelings aside.....

players should be rewarded for their efforts....

I take all points on board shuff........(as always) but for some reason you think i have my own hidden agenda.

you have named 5 players above leaving out all the rest but it's amazing the numbers that will come flying out of knowhere when you let them represent Uddingston at National finals

i rest my case on this Shuff and in no way do i want to turn this into yet another public slagging match.

oh and for the record George.....this is only my opinion i have given yet you managed to turn it around and name Holtz and Kinney of all people in a ridiculous scenario

It is a near on proven fact that for players to become better they need to practice and play in proper singles tournaments, The IM gives all players who need it valuable experience in the qualifying and if we had more entrants this would give us more finals places thus creating more oportunities for all players in the area to gain valuable experience at the IM finals...which i'm sure you will agree Shuff are fantastic

We have a situation where our area has no set criteria regarding IM participation linked to being selected for the Counties team(s)...so in effect, we can have a guy or guys who do not think they are good enough or is even willing to aspire to become a better players yet they are allowed to represent our area at national finals.......

In my opinion i think this is wrong George

Also Shuff, you have your own reasons for not wanting to enter (not wanting to drag up the scotland issue), which i am actually on your side on BTW..and you have served the IM fantastically over the years but please do not attempt to butter anything up with what i'm trying to do to raise the numbers.

Yes.....and.....???

More seeds mean the players higher up in the rankings will have a chance to be seeded unlike now where they would be placed in a section with the likes of Myself, Boab and Whisker etc etc....no matter what way you look at it George more names represents a better chance for all players to qualify

surely that must be good for our area in the long run and the development of our pool players?, thus ultimately giving us a better chance of producing better and more experienced players to then play high pressure National team pool?

just my opinion shuff

In my opinion, each player has their own choice to make whether they play in IM or any other tournament.

But for the good of the area, which includes the Supers teams and individual player progress then the more events players compete in the better they will get which in turn will improve the team..........I don't think anyone could argue against this.

I voted "yes" in the poll as I believe those who commit to tournament pool will improve their game and be sharper than those who don't.

George, it's a blinkered view if you think Freddy wants the numbers up for personal gain (ie so local seeds don't meet). He is trying to get as many players involved so they can improve and reach national finals.

I remember when you reached the top 16 and how great you were feeling about it but because you were shafted for an International spot does not make it ok to mock the IM for everyone else hoping to achieve personal goals.

If you want to get back at the SPA then the best thing to do is keep achieving good results then it will be very difficult for them to shun you.....to walk away is what they want you to do but you can rise above this and show them you won't.

Only my opinion.

As I've said before on the other thread, those who fail to enter will regret the decision next year.......you may be going through a tough patch at present but in a couple of weeks/months you could be flying and wanting to play in comps but that choice will gone for 12 months.

Think carefully......as I have felt the same myself before.
